Pikey and I gave our fishing tackle an airing for the first time this year, yesterday(saturday) at the Vulcan ressey, it was a bit slow at times but we did catch a few between us, biggest being an F1.
Fished punched bread & pinkies fed very little.
Oh an it got bloody cold in the afternoon.

I fished Vulcan myself on Saturday.
Lots of skimmers and roach at first caster over hemp and pellet.
Later i switched to double caster or pellet on the hook and had a few tench and carp it was a bit like fishing in the summer except that it was very cold.
Not keen on the proposed tree cutting it will make the lake very open and exposed, do we get a say in what is going on with the works?
Unfortunately not Mart. It's not the Associations doing and I know Eddie, and no doubt others, have put a lot of time and effort trying to stop it. The water is leased from the council so they have the ultimate say and they are hell bent on making it part of the 'Heritage Trail' and making it public access

I feel sorry for the anglers that really like to feel secure while doing their fishing. The vulcan is a haven (well it was) and now that has been taken away.
I think that the general view of non-anglers is that we all leave rubbish, line and hooks etc when we leave the spot we have fished and we generally don't look after our lot. This is true in a small number of chav fishermen but the majority want to ensure that the areas we fish are well kept and safe for man and animal alike. Unfortunately the powers that be want to use Vulcan as a show piece and rollocks to the consequences, I am sure they will sell the idea of having a bit of 'nature' close by to a massive housing estate to move property sales and to increase profits. Lets just hope when the chavs destroy it all the council are just as willing to save our water too
