Newton-le-Willows A Asc match & fishery news, 19-2-010.

The disabled & Over Sixties members weekly match, (20 pegs)
Thursday 18th, February.
This weeks match was fished on the Vulcan reservoir, Dougie Thom (Widnes) took the top slot off peg 26 with a catch of roach on caster over hemp on pole at 10 meters, for 9lbs-10ozs-0drms.
Second place went to Jeff Clare (Warrington) on peg 12, with skimmers roach and Ide's on pole and red maggot for 6-10-0.
Third place was Eddie McLorie, (Newton) on peg 10 with all skimmers to pole fished maggot for 4-15-0.
This match takes place each week so if you are disabled or over 60 come and have ago pools are £4-00 on the day draw at Whitedoor Dam this week at 10-15am.
Fishery News:

Haydock Park Farm is fishing very well on both the Lagoon and Cow Hay Dam, some nice carp common and mirror up into Double figures with plenty of roach, skimmers and hybrids to caster or maggot.
The Yew Tree Reservoir is fishing quite well for Bream and large skimmers with roach and some nice carp showing.
The 2010 permits are now in the shops and at Headquarters St Davids Social Centre, Wargrave Rd, Newton, on Monday nights only for the moment.
The Sankey brook is improving with some nice chub, and other silver fish showing.
The River Dane at Ravenscroft is showing good signs with some nice chub, barbel, dace and big grayling.
